The beginning of Advent, observed in a service of words, music, and symbols ushering in the season of expectant waiting for the coming of Christ

 Thu., Dec. 5           4:45 P.M.             Advent Taize Service
A meditative candlelight worship service for Advent held between sunset and twilight

Sun., Dec. 8           10:00 A.M.           Service of Hope & Remembrance
A communion service for everyone which acknowledges that Christmastime can bring complicated and sometimes difficult emotions  

Sun., Dec. 15         10:00 A.M.           Advent 3
Traditionally “Gaudete” Sunday, the Sunday of Advent reflecting joy–the day the pink candle is lit in the Advent wreath! 

Sun., Dec. 22         10:00 A.M.           Service of Lessons & Carols
The need of humanity for a savior, the promise of the Messiah, and the coming of Christ in the nativity are told in scripture readings interspersed with carols, hymns, anthems, and meditations.

 Tue., Dec. 24         5:00 P.M.              Christmas Eve Service
The traditional Christmas Eve service will include communion, the singing of “Silent Night” and the ceremony of candlelight

 Tue., Dec. 24          10:00 P.M.           Christmas Eve Late Compline Service
In monastic and other worshiping communities, compline is the service for the “completion” of the liturgical day. Our late service to complete the Advent cycle will be quiet, meditative, and candlelit, and will allow any who attend a moment to rest in the beauty of the coming of Christ. The service will last about 30 minutes and worshipers may enter and exit as they wish during that time.

We are not finished with Christmas yet! The 12-day season that begins on December 25 continues the joyful observance of Christ’s nativity and the holy mystery of his humanity and divinity.
