September,  5 PM,  Upper Anderson, Christian Education Committee begins fall study series.
"Invictus", a movie to be presented, is an introduction to our three week study of the Belhar Confession (1986), which had its roots in the struggle against apartheid in Southern Africa.  The Presbyterian Church USA is currently studying the Belhar Confession to see if it should be included in our Book of Confessions.  The WNC presbytery meeting in January will address this issue.  Belhar’s relevance is not confined to Southern Africa.  It addresses three key issues of concern to all churches:  unity of the church and unity among all people, reconciliation with church and society, and God’s justice. "Invictus" is based on real-life events at the end of apartheid in South Africa. It is directed by Clint Eastwood and stars Oscar-nominated Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon. Snacks, including sandwiches, fruit and drinks, will be provided. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Congregational meeting: All nominees for office were joyfully elected. Congratulations.
